Activities

St. Mary's Perunnal and Sunday School Anniversary:  In honor of the patron saint of our church, every year, St. Mary's Festival is celebrated with great fanfare.  We begin our festivities on Saturday with an evening prayer and a program by our Sunday School students and continue to celebrate through Sunday with a special service, procession and feast.

Vacation Bible School:  During a few days in the summer, we invite all of our children to spend some time together learning more about God's word.  During this time, we make sure to include activities that our children will enjoy, including songs, games and arts and crafts.

VBS - 2011 (July 29 and 30)
This year's theme for VBS was inside out and upside down.  Through lessons, activities and songs, our students learned about the character traits of Compassion, Grace, Gratitude, Forgiveness and Faithfulness and the importance of feeling them deep within our hearts.

Picnic:
This event is perhaps the one most looked forward to, especially by our kids.  Every year, we travel to a state park in beautiful Colorado and spend a few hours enjoying each other's company in the warm summer playing games and competing with each other for prizes.

The day began with ominous clouds and a chilly forecast but nothing could dampen our spirits as we set out to the Annual Church Picnic at Barr Lake. We have lived in Denver long enough to know that Colorado weather is as unpredictable as the Indian Cricket team. The summer day soon started warming up just as the games began, the Musical chairs was a hilarious sight as everyone over the age of 10 turned into little kids again. Bincy fell over the chair but still managed to hold the title over Rani Kuriakose. Benny Kuirakose was the champion of the Frisbee throwing event; it did look like he was practicing for months. Reji and Abraham put on their aprons and created a mouth watering barbeque. The  three-legged race was the crowd puller, Linda-Ani team were seen walking around for hours with a towel tied around their ankles, Swapna-Jeena fell but crawled to the finish line, Nia-Jamie finished with injuries and an inch over Manu-Rani team. Antakshri brought memories and songs of college days with Eldo, Betcy, Mary, Rani, Benny belting out old Malayalam tunes. Mary K blew away rest of the competition and took home the medal for the best tasting Payasam. Lispin ran like she was from P.T.Usha’s home town in the Running race and Eldo ran like the wind. At the end of the day the picnic was a blast and we all had great fun.

Fathers Day:  Every year, the children at church honor their fathers with presents and a special lunch to show our appreciation for all they do for us.
